Monomoy is situated just east of and directly across the harbor from Nantucket town. From the waterfront at Monomoy, the view is a panorama of historic downtown, boats in the harbor, wharves, the lighthouse at Brant Point, the historic windmill and the two antique church steeples that bookend the skyline.

Shimmo, a little further out of town, also faces the quiet inner harbor.

The views across the harbor from Shimmo are of the pristine conservation land at Coatue. Monomoy and Shimmo are both convenient to town; yet enjoy a natural privacy afforded by the natural vegetation and the inner harbor frontage. The hilly terrain gives most homes a great harbor view and some harborfront access.
